The Bussey Library will hold an Earth Day Event Saturday starting at 11 a.m. Librarian Chelzie Pinegar will read a book at that time, and tells KNIA/KRLS News, “We are going to be reading, “The Wartville Wizard,” by Don Madden. This is a great book. It tells about a guy who always picks up everybody’s garbage and he gets tired of it. One day he points his finger at a piece of trash and says go stick to the person you came from. So the trash from everybody’s debris that they are throwing out of their cars and they are getting rid of goes and sticks on them. The only way they can get rid of the trash that is stuck to them is if they throw it in the garbage.”
The library will be handing out trash bags for clean-up day Saturday in recognition of Earth Day. For those individuals who return the filled trash bag to the library, they will receive a voucher for ice cream at Wilson’s Corner.
The library will also hand out shaker bottles with a native wildflower mix. Which is good for the bees.
