Cooler weather will keep tulips in bloom longer, and the City of Pella is entering peak tulip bloom status heading into the final week of April. According to the City of Pella Parks Department’s Bloom Status map, thousands of flowers are on display, and based on their mix of early to late blooming varieties, many colors are on display between now and Tulip Time. Additionally, much cooler conditions in the forecast through next week will extend the season of the early varieties, barring major wind storms or other disruptive severe weather, the latter of which is not in the National Weather Service’s seven-day forecast.
