The Warren County Board of Supervisors have set a date for the public hearing on the FY2024 budget, which will also set the property tax levy for the coming year.
The board approved a $1 maximum property tax levy increase on the rural basic rate from $1.67 to $2.67 at their Maximum Property Tax Dollars hearing in March, which was attended by hundreds of rural Warren County residents who raised concerns about the financial struggles they are currently facing. A presentation at the hearing included information that with the increase, a home that costs approximately $250,000 will be $100 more per year.
The Maximum Property Tax Dollars was approved by the board in a 3-0 vote. The budget hearing will be on April 25th at 9:30am in the boardroom of the Warren County Administration Building.
