The Knoxville Public Library encourages all community members to visit the library during National Library Week, April 23-29, to explore all they have to offer.
Knoxville Librarian Roslin Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News, libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education and connection through book clubs, story times, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures and more.
She added that libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills and support for job seekers, small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News, “We have the book sale that is coming up. The Friends of the Library, are a group that is formed to especially help librarians with libraries. They will be having their book sale on Friday and Saturday.”
Thompson said the book sale will take place during hours the library is open, Friday would be 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
