The Warren County Board of Supervisors is holding the public hearing on the FY2024 budget today, which will also set the property tax levy for the coming year.
The board approved a $1 maximum property tax levy increase on the rural basic rate from $1.67 to $2.67 at their Maximum Property Tax Dollars hearing in March, which was attended by hundreds of rural Warren County residents who raised concerns about the financial struggles they are currently facing.
A presentation at the hearing included information that with the increase, a home that costs approximately $250,000 will be $100 more per year.
The Maximum Property Tax Dollars was approved by the board in a 3-0 vote. The budget hearing will be at 9:30am in the boardroom of the Warren County Administration Building.
