Pella Middle School seventh graders carried on a charitable tradition during the 2022-23 academic year.
The 7th graders learn about the United Nations global goals at the beginning of the school year and start to problem solve how they can individually and collectively make a difference in Mrs. Schulz and Mr. Garland’s Social Studies classes.
During their economics unit, the students plan and execute running their own business. This year, the class of 2028 earned a profit of $4168.50 from a concession stand held during winter activities, which is 2nd place overall and $79.31 short of the record set last year by the Class of ‘27, and they generated $7145.04 in revenue this year, which is a new record.
These students managed and ran the business every game this year: Jenna Beyer, Sam Manning, Henry Tjeerdsma, Aubrey Rozenboom, Monica Hundley, Julia Nedder, Peyton Phillips, Mallory Markley, Rylyn VanEssen, Jenna VanWyk, Hadassa Cole, Carleigh Altwine, Sam Deneke, and Layla Rosas.
The students in the photo up top will be featured on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
