Knoxville Boys Golf Plays At Moravia Invitational

Four of the eight spring sports for Knoxville are playing today with boys golf starting off the day at Moravia for an 18 hole invitational. The Panthers will be joined by nearly all of the South Central Conference plus Pella, Pleasantville and PCM. The Panthers have had a nearly week-long layoff and will end the week with three meets and three days.

Panthers Battle Albia On The Tennis Courts Today

Boys and Girls Tennis take on Albia tonight. The girls are on the road and the boys get to host at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts. Coach Kevin Wadle tells KNIA/KRLS sports they are working on two important things, serving, and keeping the point going to force the opponent into a mistake.

Wadle: “Number one, the serve is the only part in tennis where the player has control of what goes on. Number two I’ve talked about in high school tennis is that more points are lost than are won.”

The girls try to improve to 3-2 on the season in the South Central Conference duals before looking to the conference meet on Tuesday.

Boys Track and Field Gets One Final Run In Before Conference Meet

The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad will get one final time to run jump and throw before the conference meet next Thursday. The Panthers head to PCM to, according to Coach Eric Kellar, load up the varsity to win the meet and to get a final read on who will compete in the South Central Conference. Along with host PCM, the Panthers will be joined by Melcher-Dallas, and Pleasantville among area teams.
