Five of the seven spring sports teams at Pella Christian return to action today, as the tennis, track and field, and boys soccer teams are set to compete.
The Eagles boys and girls tennis squads will try to continue their great starts to the season this afternoon against Grinnell. Competing on the road, the Pella Christian boys are hoping for better results against the Tigers, as they’ve been swept 9-0 in the regular season meets in both of the last two seasons. On Eagle Lane, the Class 1A #9 ranked Pella Christian girls are trying to extend their winning streak to five matches dating back to 2019 against the Tigers. Both tennis matches are set to begin at 4:15 p.m.
For the first time since the Panther Relays in Knoxville two weeks ago, the Eagles track and field teams will compete in the same meet at Pella’s Tulip Time Relays. The Pella Christian boys are fresh off a second-place finish in the EBF Rocket Relays on Tuesday, while the Eagle girls are competing for the first time since taking sixth place on April 18th in the EBF Eddy Relays. The Tulip Time Relays are set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The Class 1A #13 ranked Pella Christian boys soccer team is looking to snap their four-match losing streak this evening as they host Sigourney. The Eagles dominated the Cobras in their meeting a year ago, scoring four first half goals en route to a 6-1 victory. The Pella Christian boys soccer game is the last event to start tonight with the game scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
