The Pleasantville boys golf team played a non-conference tournament at the Preserve at Lake Rathbun Thursday. The Trojans finished 9th out of 18 teams with a team score of 349. Knoxville won the tournament with a team score of 307.
Individual scores for Pleasantville showed Lincoln Card with an 85, and Kayne Brent 86, leading the way. Rounding out the Trojan scoring were Ryder Thill with an 87 and Caylor Jones at 91. Also golfing but not counting in the team total was Jaxx Lovell at 93.
Up next is a home meet today at 2 p.m. against Carlisle and Melcher-Dallas. The conference meet will be May 3 at Panorama starting at 9 a.m.
Trojans strong at PCM Track Invite
The Pleasantville boys varsity track team was third at the PCM Invitational Thursday with 127 points. Knoxville won the meet with 197 points followed by PCM with 135 and the Trojans third in the eight team field.
The Trojans had four wins for the night as Ross Stephens won the 110 high hurdles in 15.60 seconds and Ryder Thill the 1,600 at 4:56.15. Yusef Gulley leaped 21’1” to take the long jump. The other win was by the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:04.33 with Trevor Nickel, Caleb Cook. Trent Jolly and Stephens running.
Pleasantville had runner-up finishes in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×800 relays. Also in second were Ryan Clement in the 100 and Gulley in the 200.
Up next is a meet at Earlham May 2 at 4 p.m.
