The Pella Police Department and Pella Historical Museums expect huge crowds to converge on Pella during the 88th Tulip Time.

Pella Police Captain Paul Haase says the top priority for the department is the safety of all who attend – he reminds everyone to use patience and respect as they park throughout the community.

He reminds everyone that streets around the town square and in the parade staging areas are closed to vehicle traffic during the festival and that parking is available downtown or within walking distance, but those spots tend to fill up early in the morning.

Steering Committee Co-Chair Joel Bennett encourages those with plans to attend Saturday to instead consider those earlier in the week — and asks for understanding that Saturday will be crowded, with several travel delays anticipated.

Parking lots with shuttles to downtown Pella are available for $10 per vehicle, cash only. Shuttles run frequently from 9am to 10pm and are included in the price of parking. Lots are located at:

Several churches in Pella are also available for parking on a first come, first-served basis. Find the details below:
– Open Bible Church (837 Washington Street – access from West First Street off of Washington Street): $10 per day
– Calvary Church (408 Maple Street): Free parking with shuttle to downtown
– First Reformed Church (605 Broadway Street): $15 per day

Limited handicap parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Pella Public Library parking lot with access from Liberty Street.
