The Pleasantville varsity track teams travel to Van Meter to compete in the Class 2A State Qualifiers today in hopes of getting some athletes qualified for the State Meet in Des Moines.
Individuals and relays for the Trojan boys currently ranked in the top five of events at Van Meter and vying for a spot at state include:
Ryan Clement – 100 meter dash
Yusef Gulley – 200 meter dash and long jump
Ryder Thill – 1600 meter run
Ross Stephens and Trent Jolly – 110 meter hurdles
Caleb Cook – 400 meter hurdles
Trent Jolly, Ryan Clement, Caleb Cook and Yusef Gulley – 4×100 meter relay
Trevor Nikkel, Ryan Clement, Peyton Major and Yusef Gulley – 4×200 meter relay
Trevor Nikkel, Trent Jolly, Caleb Cook and Ross Stephens – Shuttle Hurdle

Alex Blackford – 200 meter dash and long jump.
Sophia Mason – 100 meter hurdles
Olivia Anthony – Discus
Lauren Furnal, Sophia Mason, Danika Park and Alex Blackford – 4×100 meter relay
Carly Gripp, Sophia Mason. Alex Blackford and Lauren Furnal – 4×200 meter relay
Top two finishers automatically qualify for state and at-large bids will be announced Friday afternoon. The State Qualifying Meet at Van Meter tonight starts at 4 p.m.
