The Indianola School Board approved multiple changes to the District Handbook at their meeting Monday, working to make the language in the K-12 handbook, activities, and others all uniform. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the handbooks were changed to fit the School Board policy, and several changes were made towards how to get kids back in school in the event of a situation that incurs consequences.

“We want to make sure that we are doing what is best for the kids. If there is a situation where there are consequences, how do we get them back into school? How do we make sure that we are meeting their needs, whether it be a chemical issue or a mental health issue, how can we support the families moving forward and making sure that it’s across the board what’s best for the kids in our district.”
