The Marion County United Way is holding a fundraiser Thursday, May 18th. They will be serving Thelma’s Famous Fried Chicken. The meal will be $10 and includes mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and a cookie. 

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Knoxville Senior Center, Raiment and from United Way Board Members. People can also go to the Marion County United Way Iowa facebook page. Meals can be picked up at the Hormel Parking Lot from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Marion County United Way Board Member, Krisi Kranz tells KNIA/KRLS News, “The fundraiser is to try and help us reach our goal of $60,000 for the year.”

Board members include the following: April Verwers, Dee Alexander, David Dettmann, Mary Hanna, Linda Shinn, Krisi Kranz, Jo Heigele (President), Rita Schacherer (Vice-President), Peg Micetich, Kamryn Ryan and Jenna Van Wyngarden.
