Boys Tennis Quickly Advances to Substate
It didn’t take too long for the top-ranked Pella boys tennis team to flex their muscle in the postseason Friday. The Dutch swept Keokuk and Davis County 5-0 in matches that took less than 45 minutes each to get their way to the cusp of Class 1A’s final eight. Pella takes on Maharshi on Wednesday to get to the state tournament.

Girls Golfers Put Together Near Season Best
A return to full strength came just in time for the Pella girls golf team, as they remain on the doorstep to the regional tournament. The Dutch were victorious in a Quad on Friday in Knoxville. Pella shot a respective team score of 187, having their entire Varsity line-up back for the first time in nearly a month. Leading scores: Karsyn Lyons -Runner-Up Medalist (42), Ellie Wogen (47), Emerson Lee (48), and Kennedy VanVark (50). The Dutch will compete in the state qualifying meet on Wednesday at Oskaloosa.

Pella Soccer Teams in Home Twin Bill; Girls Tennis in Team Playoffs
Both of Pella’s ranked soccer teams are at home today: the #12 in 3A boys have a makeup with #9 in 3A Norwalk, while the #5 in 2A Dutch girls are hosting Roosevelt immediately after. Soccer action begins at 9 a.m. today at Pella High School. Fresh off of qualifying Emily Blom in singles and the doubles duo of Alloree Else and Lily Van Dusseldorp for individual state, the #7 in 1A Pella girls tennis team begins the regional team tournament today in Oskaloosa. The Dutch will need to defeat Chariton and the winner of Knoxville/Oskaloosa, and seem to be on a collision course with #9 Pella Christian. Matches are at 9 a.m. today in Oskaloosa.
