Jack Brown scored two goals and Nile Roth added another on Saturday morning as the Norwalk boys soccer team finished regular-season play with an impressive 3-0 win at Pella. The Class 3A 9th-ranked Warriors improved to 9-7 overall and wrapped up second place in the Little Hawkeye Conference at 6-1. The 3A 12th-ranked Dutch suffered their third conference defeat.
Brown found the back of the net for the 18th and 19th times this season while Roth’s goal was his first of the year. Goalie Jacob Rueber grabbed two saves as Norwalk posted its fourth defensive shutout in conference play and fifth overall.
The Warriors’ next match will be a Class 3A, Substate 6 semifinal against Mount Vernon on Monday, May 22.
Girls Golf, Baseball compete Monday
Two Norwalk teams will be in action on Monday. The girls golf team competes in the Ballard Invitational during the afternoon and the Warrior baseball team opens their 2023 season at Urbandale. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
