The Pleasantville boys golf team played in the Mediapolis Class 2A District Meet at Heritage Oaks Golf Club in Wapello yesterday. Beckman Catholic won the meet with a team score of 302. Pella Christian was second with a team score of 320. Both teams will advance to the state tournament.

Pleasantville finished eighth with a team score of 358. Individual scores for Pleasantville had Freshman Kayne Brent at 87 and Sophomore Lukas Klootwyk at 89 to show the way. Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans were Caylor Jones with a score of 90, Junior Ryder Thill 92, Lincoln Card 92 and Jaxx Lovell at 95.

The four low scores count in the team total. The Trojans are coached by Chuck Sinclair.

Trojans win baseball opener on the road

The Pleasantville varsity baseball team opened the season with a victory. Opening on the road yesterday the Trojans wasted little time in beating Ankeny Christian. 

In a 5-inning affair the Trojans won 14-3 behind the pitching of Dylan Aldrich who went the distance on the mound striking out eight.

Leading the way offensively for Sheldon Card’s team were Jonah Schumacher with two hits and Bingham had three hits with a double. The PHS JV won 14-0.

The Trojans play Albia tonight at home at 7 p.m.
