The rich tradition of local success continued at the state track and field meet in Des Moines May 18th through the 20th. Several medals were won by athletes from Pella, Knoxville, Pella Christian, Indianola, Norwalk, and PCM, and all area schools were represented during the three day event at Drake Stadium.

The following earned state championships:
Pella Boys Track and Field Team – Class 3A champions (4th time in 10 seasons)
Chase Lauman, Pella – 800 meters, 1600 meters, 3200 meters (3rd consecutive season a Class 3A runner has swept the distance races)
Trevor Veenstra, Pella Christian – Discus
PCM Shuttle Hurdle Relay (Gavin Fenton, Griffin Olson, Adrien Robbins, Gavin VanGorp)
Claire Farrell, Norwalk – 400 Meters
