The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Induction ceremonies are Saturday.
Having thirteen inductees instead of the usual allotment of eight adds to the preparation, and the number of attendees. Tickets for the Saturday noon luncheon are sold out.
A “Bench Racing” Session for National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductees hosted by Dave Hare on the Second Floor of the Museum kicks off the weekend. Bench racing starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 3 p.m. Friday. Bench racing are stories from the past from the drivers and are normally informative, interesting, and sometimes humorous.
The Corn Belt Clash featuring the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Cars will race Friday and Saturday nights. The USAC non-wing sprint cars will race starting at 6:45 both nights.
The 2023 inductees Max Dolder, Ken Hamilton, Paul Hazen, Chad Kemenah, Cory Kruseman, Joey Saldana, Tommy Sanders and Ralph Sheheen plan to be here, as well as the families of Johnny Capels, Bobby Marshall, Joie Ray and Johnny Vance Jr. Unfortunately, Alan Kreitzer will not be joining us due to a family event, but he’ll be here in spirit according to Bob Baker, Executive Director of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
