Former Iowa Congresswoman Cindy Axne has been appointed as a Senior Advisor for Rural Engagement, Delivery and Prosperity in the US Department of Agriculture as announced earlier this week. Axne served two terms in the US House of Representatives before being defeated by Congressman Zach Nunn in 2022.

Before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, she worked at Axne Consulting Group, and held multiple senior-level positions for the State of Iowa in the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Management, and Department of Administrative Services.
