ridiculous-day

Ridiculous Day in Knoxville returns this week with a combined effort from downtown merchants and the Knoxville Farmers Market.

Denay Marsh, Assistant Farmers Market Manager, tells KNIA/KRLS News that the market will be located on the west side of the courthouse. Regular hours of the market are from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays.

Marsh said, “This year we’re definitely doing it on the 10th and we will have giveaways. All of our vendors will put little things in baskets and people can come up and do a drawing and get a free item on Ridiculous Day. So people dress up funny and we just have a good time, it’s a good time for everybody to come out.”

People are invited to come out and dress like a hippy and have a good time.

Paige Sowden with the Knoxville Barber Shop spoke on behalf of the downtown merchants who are participating and are open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be discounts on items by many of the merchants.

Music will be provided by Casey Peasley from 10 a.m. until noon.
