Jada Livingston’s home run accounted for Norwalk’s only score of the day as the Warriors lost a pair of games at Saturday’s Cedar Rapids Xavier Softball Classic. The Class 4A 2nd-ranked Warriors lost to ninth-ranked Burlington 2-0 and were defeated 2-1 by No. 11 Xavier, playing their ninth and 10th games of the week and falling to 11-4 overall.

Burlington scored both of their runs in the first inning off Zadie Wadle, who took the loss. Wadle allowed just four hits and struck out six. Wadle, Bailey Birmingham and Addi Downe had base hits for Norwalk.

Warrior freshman Cambry Livingston pitched the Xavier game, allowing five hits and two runs. Jada Livingston’s first homer of the season put Norwalk on the board.

The Warriors return to Little Hawkeye Conference play Monday night, hosting Pella Christian at 7:15 p.m. The game will be streamed live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3), with pregame coverage starting at approximately 7 o’clock.
