The latest U.S. Drought Monitor report shows abnormally dry conditions remain in place for the vast majority of south central Iowa. Little has changed from last week’s report, that showed drought in the area for the first time since this past winter. Moderate drought is in place in extreme southeastern Marion County into Mahaska, Lucas, and Monroe Counties. Predominately dry conditions continue through most of the upcoming work week, according to the National Weather Service.
