The summer sports teams have reached the midway point of the regular season, and the Dutch are hoping to kick off the turning point of the summer with victories in Grinnell this evening.

Pella’s baseball team finds themselves in a four-way tie for first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference with the Tigers after splitting with Pella Christian on Friday. The last time the Dutch played baseball in Grinnell, they won the Class 3A substate championship to earn a bid to the 2022 state tournament last July.

The Dutch softball team is hoping the mid-point of the season is a mental reset after what was a setback Friday as the Eagles swept the Tulip City twin bill. Pella finds themselves at the bottom of the league standings after tough losses to Newton and Pella Christian in games that they either held a lead or were tied late. They are hoping to spoil the evening for the #15 in 3A Tigers.

Varsity action for the boys and girls of summer from Pella begins at 7:15 p.m. in Grinnell.
