The #1 in class 4A Indianola softball team fell to the #4 in class 5A Hawks of Ankeny Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup, being unable to hold on to a late lead falling 3-2. The Indians got up 2-0 after being scoreless in the first three-and-a-half innings, putting up a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. That lead held until the Hawks put across three runs in the sixth, and the Indians were unable to drive in a run to force extras. They fall to 15-6 on the season.
Both Indianola summer teams are on the road at Newton tonight for a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader matchup. The second softball game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the call. Pregame begins at approximately 7:15pm.
