One person has died as a result of possible electrocution in Bussey this morning. Marion County Public Information Officer Emily Feagins told KNIA/KRLS News the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 8:10 from Twin Cedars Elementary School that a contractor had come into contact with a live power line. Twin Cedars Superintendent Scott Bridges calls the incident an accident and says they are cooperating with law enforcement as part of the investigation, in which that individual has died.
“I’m sad to report that we had an accident on school grounds during work on a construction project, and as a result of the accident, the construction worker has passed away. There were no other injuries to construction workers or school personnel.”
Twin Cedars Schools and Marion County Emergency Management are not releasing additional information until all family has been notified. Responding agencies included Bussey Fire and EMS, Indiana Township Fire, Knoxville City Fire and Rescue, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Mercy helicopter. The investigation is ongoing.
