Community Coordinator for Freedom for Youth in Knoxville, Angie Gentry, tells KNIA/KRLS News about the many summer programs that are offered. Gentry adds that the programs in Knoxville are free to all students kindergarten through twelfth grade, regardless of where they live.
She says the next program is for the Discovery/Journey students. It is a program to the Des Moines Art Festival June 23 from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Transportation from the Freedom Center in Knoxville is provided. Students need to register by going to the Freedom for Youth Facebook page or calling the office.
Programs are divided into two groups, Kindergarten through 5th grade for Whiz Kids and 6th through 12th grade for Discovery Journey. The programs are free for all youths involved.
