Coal Miner’s Day is always a big event for the history of the town of Melcher-Dallas. The Coal Miner’s Museum will be open from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24.
The 2023 event will be a two-day affair that honors the past and provides some fun activities on June 23 and 24. The Friday portion of the event will include music in the park starting at 5 p.m. along with some inflatables. There will also be a bags tournament in the park starting at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday starts with breakfast in the park, put on by the Methodist Church with a free will offering. It all kicks off at 8 a.m. There will also be registration for the car show across from the fire station.
A 5K run will be held at 9 a.m with registration starting at 8:30. At 10:30 will be the National Anthem in the park. The parade will start at 11:00 along with the car show.
A few of the other events include a meal at the fire department at 11:30, bingo, a vendor show, inflatables, tractor pulls, a quilting presentation, a kids water fight and a raffle among other items.
A golf tournament will end the event Sunday, June 25, starting at 9 a.m.
