A new twist on local sports coverage is coming to KNIA/KRLS starting Monday. “Today’s Radio Sports Page,” will highlight area athletes, feature broadcast highlights, and keep a focus on local athletics teams every weekday during the 8 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. local news magazines on both KNIA/KRLS.

The show will now also include special features, lifestyle interviews with athletes and coaches, and more focus on community-based sporting events beyond the award-winning high school and collegiate coverage the station has provided, and will continue to include. Every weekday, the show will be posted in its entirety on a podcast online, and individual interviews, photos, extended versions of segments, and more will be uploaded separately under Today’s Local Sports at KNIAKRLS.com. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for continuing coverage of local athletics.

Monday’s first program will feature 2023 State Track and Field Champion Chase Lauman and a look back at his once-in-a-generation racing career at Pella High School.
