Two of the top three baseball teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference will clash in Indianola Monday as the Dutch travel west for a doubleheader.

Pella and Indianola are tied for first in the conference standings with DCG, as all three have 9-3 records against league opponents. The Indians took advantage of Dutch miscues when they first played on June 2nd, scoring five unanswered runs after the home team took a 2-0 lead. Pella hasn’t defeated their conference foe since June 16th, 2020.

It could be a low-scoring doubleheader Monday; Indianola has the best pitching staff in the conference with a 1.38 ERA, while Pella is third at 1.99.

On the softball diamond, the Pella girls will aim to avoid the lopsided contest that was played the first time the teams clashed, as #7 in 4A Indianola won 12-0 in three innings.
