Former Simpson baseball star Brady Held recently signed a professional contract with the Great Falls Voyagers of the Pioneer Baseball League.

Held made his debut with the Voyagers on June 16, logging a stolen base and run as a pinch runner in the seventh inning of a 14-5 win. The next day, he made his first appearance on the mound and tallied his first professional strikeout in one inning of relief.

The Indianola, Iowa product closed his remarkable five-year career at Simpson this past May. At the conclusion of the season, he earned first team all-conference honors for the third time, becoming just the fourth player in team history to accomplish that feat. In 2022, Held had a record-setting season that saw him garner Second Team All-America recognition from D3baseball.com. He was also selected to multiple all-region teams over the course of his career and brought home American Rivers Conference Pitcher of the Year honors in 2022.

Held finished his collegiate pitching career with a 16-5 record and 240 strikeouts in 190.2 innings pitched. His 2.64 career ERA ranks first among all Simpson pitchers, while his 16 wins are tied for 11th all-time. He owns two of the top-three single-season strikeout totals at Simpson and set program records for single-season ERA (1.53) and single-game strikeouts (18).

Held left his mark in the offensive record book as well, recording 162 hits over the course of 136 games to rank sixth all-time. He also ranks sixth in career doubles (36), and total bases (234).
