Bos Landen Golf Course was recognized for their recent efforts in hosting a veterans group for a tournament. This past Saturday, Course Manager Matt Jennings received praise and a special award from the Veterans Golf Association of Iowa. State Director TJ Burns thanked Jennings and the city’s staff for hosting the tournament, praising their communication prior to the event and their work to make it go as possible, despite less-than-favorable weather conditions.

Burns wrote in a letter to City Administration and Mayor Don DeWaard, “On the day of the event, Mr. Jennings was out talking to our members and shaking as many hands as possible. As the event was shortened, he committed his willingness to reschedule our event for whatever worked for our association, and was genuinely concerned about our experience overall, wanting to insure Bos Landen met our expectations.”
