indianola-8

The Indianola softball and baseball teams head to Grinnell tonight for a pair of Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader matchups.

The Indians softball team is looking to rebound after a tough week and dropping their last two contests, and face a Grinnell team that gave them fits offensively in their matchup earlier this season where they only had two hits and only scored when taking advantage of Grinnell miscues.

The Indians baseball team is in a tie for first for the conference standings, and take on a Tigers team that they jumped on early in the first matchup scoring four runs in the first, but the Tigers have won six of their last eight allowing just three runs per game in their wins. Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports he feels comfortable with the pitching depth on the team right now, and the trust goes both ways with the pitchers trusting the defense and the defense trusting the pitchers to go out and give them a chance to make plays.

Both doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at 5:30pm.
