It was a complete Saber sweep of Mormon Trail on Thursday. The baseball squad beat the Saints 10-9 and 6-4. In game one, the Sabers had to hold off Mormon Trail, surviving a three run barrage in the 7th to get the win. Dallas Smith led with three RBI. Game two was similar as the Sabers had to survive another 7th inning scoring spree from Mormon Trail, but preserved the 6-4 win. Kasey Clark got the win going 6 1/3 innings scattering seven hits and striking out seven. It was much easier on the softball diamond as the class 1A 12th ranked Sabers destroyed Mormon Trail 12-0 in game one and 14-0 in game two. Jillian French won both games, allowing two hits in game one and throwing a no-hitter in game two. The Sabers combined for 24 hits and French had three doubles and five RBI, Rylee Dunkin also helped out with four hits and five combined RBI. The baseball squad will host Ankeny Christian tonight.
