Both Knoxville diamond squads suffered twin 4-3 losses to separate opponents on Panther Drive on Friday. The softball squad fell to ADM. The Panthers got enough runners on base, but left eight on. Brittany Bacorn launched another home run.. She along with Ciara Heffron, Ralei Danner, Hannah Dunkin and Addy Dunkin got one hit each, with Charlye Willis getting two hits. Heffron took the loss going the full distance giving up four runs on eight hits, three walks and three strikeouts. Coach Carla Smith tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there are no easy outs on the Panthers schedule moving forward.
Smith: “We go down to Albia on Monday, we had a 4-0 game and it could have been a 1-0 game. We go to PCM on Tuesday, have Clarke here on Thursday, then go down to Chariton, which is always a big game for us.”
It was the same score on the baseball side of Panther Drive as class 3A #4 Knoxville was stunned by Winterset. It was just the second loss of the season for Knoxville who dropped to 27-2 on the season. Both Knoxvilles head to Albia on Monday.
