Central College men’s track and field and cross country standout Noah Jorgenson has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country Team.
Jorgenson is the sixth student-athlete to receive CSC Academic All-America® honors for 2022-23, the most in school history. The Dutch have now had 59 student-athletes receive CSC Academic All-America® honors 72 times. Jorgenson joins football wide receiver Jeff Herbers, wrestler Gage Linahon, women’s golfer/triathlete Thea Lunning, and women’s track and field/cross country athletes Caroline McMartin and Megan Johnson among this year’s honorees.
Jorgenson was selected to the second team and carries a 3.98 GPA as a business management major. Jorgenson earned All-American honors in the 800-meter run at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He also earned All-American honors with the distance medley relay team at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Jorgenson also qualified as an individual for the 2022 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships after earning American Rivers All-Conference and All-Midwest Region honors.
He’s the first Dutch athlete on the men’s track and field/cross country list since Will Daniels in 2019.
To be eligible for consideration, a nominee must be a starter or key reserve and carry a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have reached sophomore standing. The elite squad is selected by the CSC membership from a ballot including all CSC Academic All-District honorees. The Division III program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure. Selections were made based on accolades from the cross country and track and field seasons.
