Ward 3 inspections have begun for the City of Indianola Rental Housing Inspection Program. The program began in 2022, after the latest census data showed the city with a population of over 15,000, which prompted the creation of the program as required by state law.
Rental housing in the city limits of Indianola are currently being inspected over three inspection periods determined by Ward location. Ward 1 and 3 have been allocated seven months to inspect each rental unit. Ward 2 and 4 will be inspected together over a period of seven months. Ward 3 inspections will last throughout 2023, with Wards 2 and 4 taking place through 2024. Registration for rental housing is available on the City of Indianola website.
