At their meeting Monday night, the Knoxville City Council set three public hearings for their next meeting on July 17th.
The first hearing is for the disposal of an interest in real property by sale. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says this is the first step to begin selling city owned properties in one of Knoxville’s newest housing developments.
“This public hearing will specifically be for the lots at the New Veterans District. So, that is 34 of those lots that will be a public hearing process to go through and then once that is done at the July 17th meeting, then we can accept those offers and continue to move forward with those.”
The second public hearing will be to approve the proposed plans and specifications for the Veterans Park Trails Connection and award a contract for the project. Ussery says that bids for the project have been submitted and that setting construction dates will happen once the contract is awarded.
The final hearing at the meeting is in regard to the status of funded activities for the 203 E Main Knoxville Façade Project. Ussery stated that funding came from a grant through the state and that this public hearing is a requirement to update the status of how the project is going.
