The Knoxville Municipal Airport will be hosting the Knoxville Airshow and Family Festival in late September, and they are seeking volunteers for the event.
The event will feature multiple airshow acts, activities for families, and concerts performed by The Nadas and Neva Alden. The Knoxville Airshow and Family Festival will be the largest airshow ever held at the airport and Knoxville Municipal Airport Manager Katie Shawver says that many volunteers will be needed to help in various roles.
“Fly Iowa generally brings about 3,000 people to their air shows along with the family festival and things of that nature, so we are gonna require quite a bit of boots on the ground. I am compiling a list of volunteers that will be delegated to specific responsibilities that’ll help out whether that’s marshaling aircrafts, or helping with the hog roast, or just maintenance with safety. Air shows require a lot of help with that.”
