The Warren County Leadership Class of 2023 is hosting a 5K Run/Walk event to raise awareness for mental health in July. Patty Alexander with the Warren County Leadership Class of 2023 tells KNIA News the run/walk will raise funds for Heal House of Iowa, and it was important for this year’s class to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy balance of physical and mental health.
“We just wanted to find a way to help everyone be aware that there are resources out there. Lots of people struggle with mental health. And it might be just a temporary mental health issue, or it might be something that is a little more long term. There are lots of resources here in Warren County available, and we wanted to make sure people knew that there are ways to help yourself. And the physical health area too, a way to combat mental health problems is to be physically active. This is just a way to bring people together for a common cause.”
