They play the games for a reason — and the Pella Christian baseball team proved that, by pulling off the upset of the 2023 baseball season. The Eagles knocked off #1 Van Meter 2-1, the four-time defending state champions, in ten innings to earn their bid to the Class 2A state tournament. The game was heard live on 92.1 KRLS. This is the first appearance for Pella Christian at the state tournament since they won the title in 1994. The Eagles are the #8 seed and will take on #3 Beckman on July 18th at 11 a.m.
