Indianola High School graduate Duncan Davitt has been named as the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week for his performance for Bowling Green, a Tampa Bay Rays minor league baseball affiliate. Davitt pitched five innings in relief, giving up zero hits, zero runs, and struck out nine batters over the course of the week, as he helped the team to a 4-2 record. Davitt tells KNIA Sports he is continuing to grow his game, and working with professional coaches is a bonus.
“Over the past few weeks I’ve just been trying to really honing my ability to know what pitch to throw when, whether I need to take some time off of a certain pitch or what to focus on more heavily in the bullpen. Just learning how to pitch a little bit better, and it’s been a really fun process.”
