A pair of Pella softball graduates who shared the outfield are also being honored with a prestigious award.

Kylie Tauke and Katie Pollock both earned Academic All-State recognition from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. This is the second honor from the IGCA for Tauke’s work in the classroom after earning those honors in basketball this past winter.

To be chosen, an athlete must be a senior and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 and an ACT minimum score of 27 or higher or 1200 or higher SAT.

Tauke and Pollock started in all 33 games for the Dutch this season, who finished at 14-19 overall. Both will attend Iowa State University this fall.
