The Bluegrass Conference has announced the all-conference selections for the summer sports teams. For softball…Twin Cedars landed four players on the 1st team with two unanimous selections. The two unanimous selections were Rylee Dunkin, who led the team in nearly all offensive categories with five home runs, 50 hits, and 37 stolen bases. Dunkin also finished her career with a school record 167 base swipes. The other unanimous selection was pitcher Jillian French. French, pitching as a starter for the first time in her career, had 186 strikeouts, to just 59 walks and an ERA of 1.96 in 161 innings. Other 1st team selections were Cristen Durian, who had 31 hits, 25 RBI, and a 378 batting average, along with Kisha Reed, who after a late start due to preseason surgery raked up 40 hits with 36 RBI, a 460 boating average and stole ten bases. Earning 2nd team was Cheyanne Bruns and Alli Reed. Earning honorable mention was Kenndi Ford. For the baseball Sabers Holden Roberts earned unanimous first team selection with 27 hits, 16 RBI, and a 474 batting average. Also on the 1st team was Gavin Clark, who racked up 20 hits and 12 RBI and was perfect in 12 steal attempts. Dallas Smith was also on the 1st team as he had 21 hits and a 368 batting average. Earning 2nd team was Blake Micetich, Wyatt Findley, Kasey Clark, and Chase Rozenboom. On honorable mention was Braxton Davis. Melcher-Dallas got Paetyn Anderson on the 1st team as she led the Saints with 39 hits, seven home runs, and 45 RBI. Earning honorable mention was Hayden Branson. For baseball, Logan Godfrey and Trevor Hoch were named to the 2nd team. While Mason DeJong was named honorable mention. The Sabers softball squad won the Bluegrass Conference title with a 16-0 record before falling to Sigourney in the class 1A regional final, while baseball finished fourth in the BGC with an 8-4 record. The Saints softball squad finished seventh in the Bluegrass Conference with a six-and-ten record while the baseball squad also finished 7th at 1-11.
