 Drought conditions remained mostly the same in south central Iowa in the latest weekly update. However, the entire state is now considered under drought conditions. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, moderate drought is impacting most of Marion and Warren Counties, and severe conditions are in place in the southeast corner of Marion County. Abnormally dry conditions are present in the northeast corner. Most of the area received around one to two inches of precipitation over the last week. A few chances for showers and scattered storms are in the forecast for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
