A pair of local legislators remained strongly in support of a measure that restricts abortion in Iowa. State Senator Ken Rozenboom and Representative Barb Kniff McCulla both endorsed a special session held earlier this week to revive a 2018 bill that would reduce the weeks in which abortion is legal in Iowa from 20 to six, with some exceptions. Senator Rozenboom says his yes vote was a continuation of his long support for pro-life legislation. Kniff McCulla was on a family trip to Florida during the special session, but indicated to KNIA/KRLS News she would have been a yes vote and supported the measure.
