The Warren County Board of Supervisors approved the creation of a new task force to help battle the opioid epidemic in Warren County. Task Force Chair Crystal McIntyre tells KNIA News mental health and opioid addiction often go hand-in-hand, and the task force is planning to create a case manager position to help facilitate any mental health and rehabilitation efforts.

“This person could have the resources to not only reach out to those who are affected, but bring those resources directly to them. And do that in a very tailored way to their individual needs.”

The task force includes McIntyre, Public Health Director Dr. Joelle Stolte, Warren County Attorney Doug Eichholz, Warren County Sheriff Joe Carico, and Betsy Stursma with CICS.
