The Webb Shadle Public Library located in Pleasantville has received accreditation from the State Library of Iowa.

The library has met the required standards that are needed to be considered accredited in the state of Iowa. Achieving accreditation requires a significant, ongoing local commitment to high quality library services. 

The Webb Shadle Public Library has been recognized for its efforts in all areas of library operations including governance and funding, staffing, library collection, services, public relations, access, and facilities. The accreditation status is valid for three years. 

There are three tiers of accreditation and the Webb Shadle Public Library has gone from tier zero to tier three. Accredited libraries receive a higher rate of compensation through the State Library’s Enrich Iowa program.
