Today we spotlight the #6 sports story on our top ten countdown and it is a group of young ladies who while they wore black and gold of Knoxville for most of the day and the rest of their activities, they traveled 25 miles west to don purple and gold of Indianola to compete for the Indians in swimming. Knoxville and Indianola have had a long time sharing agreement which allows athletes to swim competitively for another school while still attending their own school. Kodi Cram, Julian Bacon, Olivia Ramaeker, and Olivia Bacon were all a part of three events that made the Girls State Swimming Meet last fall. The 200 medley relay, the 200 free relay, and the 400 free relay all competed and Cram told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a long time in coming to get all three relays to state.

Cram: “We definitely wanted our relays to go. We wanted some individuals to go, but we didn’t get that done, but it’s been a long time since all three relays went to state.”

The 200 medley relay placed 32nd in a time of 2:00, the 200 free relay stopped the clock in 1:44.74, and the 400 free relay received an unfortunate disqualification.
