Counting down the top moments of the 2022-23 year for Simpson College continuing with #1. The Simpson Storm women’s soccer team had a stellar regular season, but knew they would have to go on the road in the American Rivers Conference tournament to Waverly to take on the Knights from Wartburg. The Storm had previously dropped their contest to the #17 in the country Knights in the regular season 1-0, and after a scoreless first half both teams would find the back of the net to tie the score at 1 forcing extra time, with the Storm goal coming from Cassie Nash in the 87th minute. Nash again struck for the winner in the 92nd minute in the extra period, as they outran the entire Knights defense and beat the keeper to get the winner and put the Storm in the conference finals.
