The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) awarded Central College special mention for its squad’s academic achievements.

The WBCA recognizes NCAA, NAIA and two-year college teams across the country that carry the highest grade point averages. To receive special mention, a team must carry a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher. Central carried a 3.33 team GPA during 2022-23.

Guard Abby Johnson led Central with a 4.0 GPA for the year. Five Central players received American Rivers academic all-conference distinction, which requires a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
